This year’s Decorex was held in early October at Olympia’s huge event space.
The three-day showcase delivered a lot of promise and of course, tonnes of inspiration that sparked feelings of ethereal living.
I found myself immersed in bold patterns and vibrant prints, yet I walked away with a newfound admiration for earthy tones and natural, traditional materials.

2024’s edition of the interior trade show emphasised eco-friendly features while celebrating innovation.
Each of the stands had something to admire and I noticed that organic textures were abundant. I loved the underlying message of fusing earthy hues with elegant, contemporary styles.
If you’re more of a maximalist, there was something there for you too.
I stumbled across numerous playful patterns that added an air of vibrancy, while consciously crafted pieces underscored the importance of sustainability and traditional design.
From eye-catching furniture to lush, tactile decor, Decorex highlighted the harmony between innovation and nature - leading the way for our spaces to feel both modern and grounding.
While there are too many brands to name individually; there were two stands that spoke to my inner decorator and it’s no surprise that we’re overseeing another really divine bathroom setup.
Soho Lighting Company at Decorex
One of my favourite pieces of the trade show was from Soho Lighting Company.
In fact, I was super surprised to find out that a designer younger than you and I designed the light sculpture that I loved the most.
The Cleaner Ocean Project was established to inspire local schoolchildren to embrace sustainability through hands-on learning and design.
The winning design, ‘Bluebell,’ has been added to Soho Lighting’s Ocean collection and perfectly embodies the natural aspect I continued to feel browsing the new range, boasting a fabulous floral body and rippling ocean-like details.
The mixture of white and green shades felt summer-inspired and reminded me of flower-filled fields, but was also appropriate enough to bring warmth to a cosy winter space.
All proceeds from the Ocean collection support Surfers Against Sewage, a great addition to sustainable and inspiring interiors - thoughtful fixtures that enhance the bigger picture.
Speaking of fixtures, another notable mention for Soho Lighting Company's range of toggle light switches.
Not just a dream for eliminating grubby finger marks (especially around the kitchen), but speaks to a traditionalism in modern home finishes that we just don’t see much of anymore, which I greatly appreciated.

Clearwater Interiors at Decorex
I wouldn't describe myself as an eccentric, or even particularly a maximalist interior-wise; though I was completely drawn, almost hypnotised by Clearwater Interior’s stand at Decorex.
The rich new tones from the design house oozed a quintessential luxe and I found myself fawning over the idea of bold prints, teamed with vibrant colours in unexpected spaces.
I’ll admit, I never thought a pink bathtub would be on my must-have list, until I saw it, though, the Military Green shade is just as tempting.
There are four striking new colourways available from Clearwater Interiors including Soft Pink, Navy Blue, Military Green and Copper Brown, along with new brassware finishes Brushed Metallic and Brushed Copper.
You can opt for these new tones across basins, baths, furniture, stone walls and more, so there’s truly something for every preference and space.
Especially useful if you’re aiming to add an element of surprise as well as a pop of colour to your space in a unique fashion.
Also, it's a less time-consuming design route if you hate nothing more than a clinical-looking bathroom.
Whilst I love a refreshing shower, the art of just ‘being’ and enjoying time in a bathtub feels like it’s becoming a lost art.
I can imagine long relaxing evenings in a Bridgerton-esque bathroom setup like this.
